Lisa, I want to tell everyone that reads this, just what I think of you . . .
We have used Lisa and Texas Bookkeepers for over 2 years. During that time she has more than gone the extra mile to help us. Starting from ground zero (or lower), she trained us in the use of QB and and the right way to operate financially. When we have tried a new idea she explained how that approach would fit with GAAP (standards for accountants) as well as the IRS. At all times she has shown us the 'correct' way and indicated where there is room for interpretation.
I view Lisa as a partner, not in the investor way but in a business way. She works to help us be successful by sharing ideas and showing us better ways to do the bookkeeping/accounting activities that go with my business of apartment community investment. In addition, she helps us see the point of view of the investor. There are times that decisions might make it hard for investors to grasp the data/information. Lisa has provided pointers on better ways to show what is happening.
Another area Lisa has helped me with is audits. While we have not gone thru one, she has shown us how to be careful and leave enough information so that an auditor can understand what you were doing and why. I feel much better knowing that I am fully ready yet hope I never have to prove it!
I have made the decision to continue to use her as we group the business. This is both because of the value she has brought so far but because she is looking for ways to help us reduce costs. Not only costs directly for her services but also with other vendors. When we needed someone she was able to make a recommendation.
Texas Bookkeepers is the perfect way to start in business. They give great help and a lot of hand holding. It is also a great place to grow your business. Lisa has a business model that allows for expansion and contraction.
